Security and privacy

What FairSign Forms to PDF can access in your Google account, why, and where your form answers go.

FairSign Forms to PDF runs inside your Google account. Your form answers and the PDFs it makes stay there and never pass through our servers. Apart from Google's own Drive and Docs APIs, the only request it makes is a license check with Polar, and that request carries the license key only.

Where your form answers go

  1. 01

    Someone submits your form

The answers are stored in your Google Form, as always.

  2. 02

    The add-on fills your template

It runs inside your Google account, writes the answers into a copy of your Docs template and exports a PDF to a folder in your Drive.

  3. 03

    Gmail sends the PDF

The email goes out from your own account, so it appears in your Sent mail.

  4. 04

    Our servers

Not part of the path. We never receive your answers or your PDFs.

The eight permissions, one by one

When you authorize the add-on, Google shows you these. We ask for these eight and no others.

  • 1

    Read this form

Read the questions and new responses of the one form where the add-on is open, so it knows what to fill in and when a response arrives.

    auth/forms.currentonly
  • 2

    Edit its own templates

Write content into, and replace placeholders in, the template documents the add-on creates itself.

    auth/documents
  • 3

    Only files it created

Create and read only the folder, templates and PDFs the add-on itself created. It cannot see or touch your other Drive files.

    auth/drive.file
  • 4

    Send the email

Send the PDF by email, in the form owner's name, to the person who submitted the form.

    auth/script.send_mail
  • 5

    Outside requests, two reasons

Make outside requests for two purposes only: calling Google's own Drive and Docs APIs, and checking your license key with Polar.

    auth/script.external_request
  • 6

    Show the sidebar

Show the add-on's sidebar inside your form.

    auth/script.container.ui
  • 7

    Start on new responses

Install the on-form-submit trigger that starts the PDF job when a response arrives.

    auth/script.scriptapp
  • 8

    Know your address

Read the form owner's own email address, used as the default address for notifications and copies.

    auth/userinfo.email

What we do not ask for

  • The full Google Drive permission (drive) or read-only Drive access (drive.readonly). The add-on cannot browse your other files.
  • Your other forms, your inbox or your contacts.
  • Your Google password. The add-on never sees it.

The one outside request

If you enter a license key, the add-on sends that key to Polar to check it. Polar is our payment provider and merchant of record. Nothing from your forms goes with the key. Without a license key, the add-on makes no request to anyone except Google.

You stay in control

  • Revoke the add-on's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Settings and the list of recent runs are stored with your form in your Google account, not with us.
  • If a future version needs a new permission, this page and the privacy policy are updated before it is released.
